This, That and The Other
Mon Mar 01 2004

This is one of those days where all I want to do is go back to bed and sleep all day. I got to bed late last night as I was arguing with Outlook on my computer and lost track of the time. It looks like I’m going to have to uninstall MS Office then reinstall it. Something in the Outlook is hosed, and I can’t find where it is.

The thing keeping me up? Well, besides homework that I haven’t been able to concentrate enough to succeed at is doctor’s appointments for the kids. There are some weeks that I feel all I do is run the kids between school, the doctor, the dentist and the orthodontist. Those are the weeks that I feel I should just stay in my car all day and not even bother coming into the house between runs.

Fortunately this is not one of those weeks.

Hubby and I were for the most part pleased with the winners last night at the Oscars. While I would have liked to see Bill Murray take home the award for best lead actor, I have to admit that it is mostly due to the fact that I can’t stand Sean Penn. Also, having not seen Mystic River, I don’t really know how his performance was.

We were very glad for Peter Jackson and everyone on the cast and all the entire population of New Zealand who were thanked (although I didn’t hear anyone mention Sez…).

Our favorite moment of the awards last night definitely goes go the speech following the awarding for the Best Foreign Language Film, and Denise Roberts comment, “We’re so thankful that The Lord Of The Rings did not qualify in this category!”

When a big movie like Lord of the Rings is up for that many awards, they should just give them all the awards at once. Why make the whole affair drag on forever?

Alex has found some problems with going to school while in the army, he can't figure out how to attend school when he is sent out in the field for a week to a month at a time. His schedule is too erratic for school.
