The kids had a blast today at the birthday party of a neighbor boy about the twins age. He has a plethora of air-soft guns, and we live along a green belt. He had several other friends over in addition to my three, and they were all out in the woods for a good 10 hours today running around and having a blast (get it? Air soft guns...having a blast? OK, I'm easily amused)!
Dinner tonight was one I need to remember so I make it again. I have a couple different sized clay bakers, and tonight I sliced summer squash fresh from my garden and put chicken thighs on top and baked them that way in one of the cookers. We also had fresh corn on the cob, raspberries, and I broke out one of my jars of pickled asparagus for the main meal. In the other clay baker, I made (what could only be described as...) Peach Whatchamacallit. I had one package left of peach pie filling I had made and frozen last summer. I didn't want to make a pie crust, didn't quite have all the ingredients for cobbler or fruit crisp, so I mixed and matched the cobbler and crisp recipe and the results were out of this world! I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to mix and match a fruit dessert recipe!
Well, time to head off to bed to see if the melatonin has kicked in yet, thusly allowing me to fall asleep. Wish me luck!
