Along with this are lots and lots of jars. I’m fairly sure all of the boys will be begging for me to start putting up Dilly Beans in short order for them to feast on after school. I have to admit that I like the thought of them having Dilly Beans over most of their other preferred snacks. Between Dilly Beans and apple sauce, I should be able to have after school snacks set for all of next year after this summer.
Personally I’m also looking forward to a few other things I will be putting up for myself and a few other people. Pickled beets and asparagus are a couple of the things that will be on the shelf for #2, some other family and friends and myself.
I haven’t yet decided on whether or not I will be doing pickles this year. I won’t be taking any classes this summer, so I will definitely have more time than I did last year.
I do also have a pressure canner this year (courtesy of a co-worker of Hubby’s), so I’m hoping to do spaghetti sauce as well as several different veggies and maybe even a soup or two if I get around to making stock.
OK, back to day-dreaming about all the canning I will be doing. Heck, maybe I’ll toss Hugh into those day-dreams. He can help me peel the apples… yea; I’ll go with that story.
