Early Morning Thoughts
Mon May 23 2005

Well, #3 and I made it down to Bro’s house yesterday in record time. We dropped Bro & SIL off at the airport a few minutes ago, it is 4:55am, and we are both wide awake and ready for the day. I was going to go back to bed after getting back here, but a slight mishap with the security system resulted in the alarm fully waking us up. So… up we stay.

I’m thinking about taking us both out to get hair cuts today. I do this every few years. I grow my hair long because Hubby likes it long, then it drives me nuts and I cut it off. The cycle starts all over again then. I had considered trying to grow it at least as long as my waist this time, but I’ve reached my limit of tolerance. It’s driving me nuts and I think I should get it cut before it drives me any more crazy and I shave it.

OK, I probably wouldn’t shave it… but there are days I definitely feel like shaving it!

I think I may also head over to the outlet mall today or tomorrow. I’ve noticed that #3 has been going through a growing spurt lately, and almost all of his pants are now a couple inches too short. There are also a couple items I have been on the look-out for, and it would be good to take advantage of looking for those items while I’m in a “no sales tax state”.

    mmmm, Hugh.

I've always wanted to learn how to can, my grandmother canned every year and I wanted to be just like her.

It's neat that you know how.

My brother makes a mean dilly bean himself.

Canning is a lot of fun.

It's nice to know exactly where that food has been from the garden to the table. I like knowing it's wholesome.

RYC: All I know for sure is that it was a Honda. I have no idea what make or model. It did have a nifty nozzle though that allowed for a wider fan of water. It would clean a 3-4 inch swatch at a time. Way cool!

I can too. remember last year you shared your dilly beans rec. with me..
I grow my tomatoes and can then each fall. I also do fruit. pears, peaches, plums, whatever I can get
I have done all kinds of jelly and jam
Yeah it is so much fresher and healthier. and makes a big differance with over active kids.. don't you think?
    anyway.. hahaha
I was happy to read Hugh will peal skins for you.

I haven't done pickles for many years. My grandma used to do mustard pickles with califlower, little pearl onion, pickles and celery .. man, they were unbelievably good!!
