Dialysis Memory
Dialysis went smoothly today. Deb and Jackie are relearning and reevaluating how to do dialysis at home, which we have been trying since November and December, but I ended up in the hospital because I had gotten another blood infection (my second one) and was at Mercy for 8 days. Well, after my 9th catheter needing to be removed, we went where Fresenius patients go. The place is named Azura, and the place is pleasant and friendly --- even more friendly and NOT judgmental, according to what I saw and heard around me. I have ALWAYS felt like a number at Mercy, but at Azura, I was treated as a patient who needed care that was urgent this one Friday afternoon, and my tenth catheter placement, because I have no more access points in my body to have a fistula or graft anymore. The graft I did have worked only for 9 months, while the fistula never got strong enough to be used, and then it stopped doing what it was supposed to do -- thump as my heart beat. That is how I perceived it to feel and sound, by the way my heart beat went.
My Day Today
I believe my day could have gone a little better than it did TODAY! Jackie did not make it to work today because she was dealing with a headache and very little sleep. UGH! It did not make me very happy, to be honest with you! I was not very happy about it. I was actually livid and unable to talk for a while. It turned out to be expressing my feelings with Jackie about how my day was. I will be ok, though. I need a break from Deb at the way and rate my day today and yesterday went--not very smooth, but I survived these two days.
As far as Deb goes. I love her, and I am glad she is helping me, but this morning... I am ready for a break from her. It started yesterday for some reason. I have had enough! I will need to talk to Jackie about it. I have to admit that I was NOT having a good day yesterday that ran into today, too! Now, tomorrow, and Saturday, she will be going to Illinois to see her son, who is a freshman in college now. whew!
Tomorrow (Friday)
I have a hair appointment at 11 AM. Jackie and I will be going to the beauty school on Mineral Point Rd. I am looking forward to this outing. Jackie was not impressed with how the girl colored my hair and wants it fixed up a bit. Okay... a free fix.

It’s always nice to get our hair done. Makes you feel refreshed most of the time. I hope it goes well !
