As far as dialysis is concerned, today was my last day at the clinic on the outpatient side of things. If I have any future problems with this or any other catheter, Jackie and I will be going to Madison Azura, a company Fresenius Kidney Care uses from now on. To be very honest with you and myself, the catheter I have now looks better than the catheters. I got through Mercy Hospital Radiology department. My 10th catheter, seems prettier than Mercy Hospital’s, lol. When I had my eighth catheter replaced with my 9th catheter and just like my first catheter, it was giving Fresenius Kidney Care Clinic enough trouble that the nurse and secretary H (female) got me an appointment at Azura to have my 9th catheter replaced. As far as Mercy is concerned, I will miss the workers who worked in the department, but Jackie was not happy that my 9th catheter had to be replaced within three weeks AFTER it was placed in my chest because we both learned from Dr. Alex at Azura that it was too short and too thick for my body to get a fair and appropriate cleaning. It wasn’t the fact my blood was getting cleaned in a sitting, my 9th catheter was NOT holding up to its task/job very well. It was causing the machine to beep a lot because the push and pull was sluggish, and the machine was touchy or stubborn. Having my 9th catheter removed and replaced with my 10th catheter. I am happy, though. I do mind leaving Mercy Hospital behind for good and go to SSM Health or the Froedtert Hospital for my medical needs from now on! Also, I will be going to Azura for ALL future dialysis medical issues. No more Mercy Hospital!
For today, dialysis went smoothly the entire time. I had no worries whatsoever. This past month I got to see my friends and favorite techs and nurses for the last time today for treatment. I am more excited about going back to the home dialysis side of Fresenius Kidney Care Clinic on Tuesday.
