For Fathers Day, #2 set up an activities obstacle course, followed by a scavenger hunt. During the scavenger hunt, he convinced me not to participate so I could run him up to the store to get “the perfect coffee mug” for his dad. Hubby is now the proud owner of a mug which holds approximately a quart of coffee.
We hit the pool again in the afternoon, and it is safe to say that the whole family got too much sun. I camped out mostly in the shade and got another chapter of history read, with Hubby lounging next to me giving the kids scores on their cannon-balls. All cannon-ballees got extra points if the splash was big enough to get the lifeguards wet.
Then it was home to a lasagna dinner with peach pie for dessert. Hubby’s favorites! We are now lounging around, tummies full and bodies extremely lethargic. It’s hot, fairly humid, and I’m very much ready for a cold shower to try to convince my body not to over heat any more than it already is.
During the middle of the day, between the scavenger hunt and swimming, Hubby and I spent some quality time re-doing our budget and day dreaming about someday. This week’s someday involves us ferreting away enough money in the next yearish to get out of military housing and into a house. We definitely need a house which allows us space to escape. Whether it be a living room and family room, or a great room and a den, or any combination of rooms which will allow someone who wants to read, do homework, or be surrounded by quiet to escape to. It would also be nice, with a family of 5 to have another bathroom.
Yep, another bathroom is something that would definitely be a good thing to have
