I got a magazine for free in the mail the other day (don’t you just love those kind?) that is all gardening info. No ads, just good stuff. I came across one article in here about making your own bird baths, and it TOTALLY reminded me of my SIL.
By using giant leaves (the article uses a rhubarb leaf), 40 pound bag of sand, and a 40 pound bag of pre-mixed concrete, go through 5 easy steps and viola! Instant bird bath! Here is a link to the magazine site for this project for anyone who is interested. I’m kind of thinking that this would be a fun summer project for me and the kids. I just need to find someone in the neighborhood that has a LARGE leafed plant and borrow a leaf from them!
