While I should have left the house and gone to the ed-center or library to do my homework, I stayed at the house and tried to do it. Had my tummy not been queasy I would have left. But since I didn’t relish the idea of dashing to the bathroom every few minutes at anyplace other than my home, I stuck around here.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Sunny and hot, with lawns being mowed, cars being washed, gardening being done and kids playing loudly everywhere. I don’t think there was any yard in the area louder than ours, with between 6 and 8 boys in the back yard jumping on the trampoline at any given time. Needless to say, this also contributed to my inability to fully focus on dot products and cross products in calculus.
Doing my homework went something like this:
If a = < 1, 2, 3 > and b = < 3, 2, 1 >
Then a x b equals planting the onions in the far left row this year instead of the 4th row in.
Or:
Find the vector orthogonal to the plane that goes through the points P, Q & R and plant twice as many sweet peas along the chain link dog run this year.

While I hate to see them go without me, I’m actually looking forward to being alone in the house and yard tomorrow so I can concentrate better on the books. I plan to put a sign on all doors and windows of the house stating that #1, #2 & #3 are gone until Wednesday in the hopes that the doorbell will not ring every 5 minutes (another thing that happened all day today) with various children looking for playmates.
It might work. I’m sure it will work! I hope it works.
