Tired Morning & Thinking About Movies
Thu Apr 08 2004

Boy am I tired this morning. It’s my own fault of course; I should have gone to bed earlier. I’ve been trying to stay up long enough for Hubby to fall asleep before I go to bed. He’s come down with another cold (he just got over the last one about a week ago) and when he first goes to bed he coughs enough to wake the dead. Once he falls asleep his coughing pretty much stops, and it is then I’m able to fall asleep. Judging by how much he was coughing last night, he didn’t get much sleep either.

While I should pack up and head to school to do my homework after the kids leave, I think I’m going to try to catch about an hour of z’s first. Today is my light day, only one class in the early afternoon. Mornings are prime homework time on Tuesdays and Thursday’s. Today though, I need a bit more sleep if I want to stay awake for the drive to school and getting through my homework and class.

Speaking of homework… I need to go to the video store and check out a video to watch in order to do my first essay. I had said earlier that I wanted to do it on Spiderman, and title it “Evaluating the Sociological Impact of Comic Book Movies on Today’s Youth” or “Why Spiderman Rocks.” Of course I was saying this mostly because I didn’t’ really know what I wanted to do, and thought if I BS’d my way through an impressive sounding title, I might actually think of something to do. Of course now I have decided which movie I want to do it on, but don’t know if I will be able to find a copy of it anywhere. While it’s something I’d like to buy, my timeline for doing the essay is such that I don’t really have time to do that.

The movie is The Point. I have not seen this movie since about 1976, but remember it vividly, such was its impact on me. I understand this is a common reaction to many who have seen this film, but I personally don’t know anyone who has seen it besides myself. I think that is possibly the number one reason why I want to do my essay on this. It’s a great little flick, and more people should see it.

Harry Nilson! I have the album! It always bothered me when that stupid car commercial came on, abusing the "Me and my Arrow" song. And it always bothered me that the album didn't contain the complete story line.

You have now found another person who's seen it. Twice. I didn't know you could get it on DVD though.
