Doesn’t It Figure?

#1 and #2 both have orthodontist and dental appointments this morning starting at 9:30. I had planned for them to sleep in while I got #3 ready for school and out the door, then getting them up to get ready for the day. Given the opportunity to sleep in, I had hoped they would have a more cooperative day for what was left of their school day.

Did that happen? Noooooooooooooooo.

I’m convinced that all of my kids have “sleep radar”. On days I want them to sleep in; they almost always manage to get up at their normal time. Or shortly after that

Oh well, since they are up this early I can have them do their afternoon chores now.

Yesterday was a day that was truly enjoyed by the whole family. We had invited our neighbors to come to church with us in the morning, and then had them over for a BBQ for dinner. The kids stuffed themselves on hotdogs, chips and potato salad, and we parents stuffed ourselves on steak, green salad and potato salad. A dessert of chocolate silk pie or Chocolate Butter Pecan Pie topped the meal off.

It was very enjoyable to partake in adult conversation during the evening while the kids played. I think it is safe to say that the kids spent about 9 hours on the trampoline yesterday. They were all on it shortly after getting home from church and pretty much the rest of the day.

I like days like that. The kids always fall asleep so quickly at night after a day of non-stop jumping!

Today I hope to get the things planted that I didn’t get into the ground over the weekend. With any luck, the sunny weather I’m looking at right now will hold until I get home from all the morning appointments this morning.

I’d also like to get more items to put into the ground, but that will have to wait until the next payday. This is what I’m really looking forward to getting. I’m going to put my tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers in these this year. This reminds me, I need to get a few Shepherds Crooks next time I’m at the store.

Hey, that thing looks like a hummingbird feeder... they might start poking holes in your ripe tomatoes!

That upside down hanging thing is weird! you'll have to let me know how that works. It might be fun to give a try.

Always able to improvise - it's Allimom! That'll teach those boys to get up early. Wait until you NEED them too now.

Can I borrow the trampoline for Maisie?

Thanks for the tip about www.countrysidegardens.com! I've another browser open to their page even as I type, and it really is a great site. Spend some time out digging in the yard yesterday, and am envisioning more of that today. (She walks away whistling....)

    Hugs,

A bbq in the month of March? You lucky duck. We are getting snow right now and the thought of eating outside would not be a wise idea. Infact it is down right chilly inside my house right now. I have to get the woodstove going. Instead I will put on a robe because the woodstove and I have "issues" and it doesn't like me. I can NEVER get that thing going. Thanks for the warm thoughts of spring and hotdogs on the grill. They are so delicious that way.
