How To Call The Police
Mon Mar 15 2004

George was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said no. Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot them all." Then he hung up.

Within five minutes three police cars,an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips residence. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them?"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Waaaaahhhh! You get to plant all those beautiful flowers. Waaaahhhh!!!

Oh, well. Maybe you'll post some pictures after they're planted and in full bloom. I garden vicariously.

    Shalom

I have that book on order from the library.
But it's been a long time! I must have been 10th in line for it!

Bleeding Hearts... I tried to buy some last trip to the nursery, but they were out of them at the moment. :-(

Glad to see you stop by at my diary. I may not always have the moment to reply but I do read your diary daily. Please forgive me for being silent.

How is the DaVinci Code? What is it about? I have heard very little inregards to the context. I read the Bible Code and found it quite interesting. It claims that the original script of the bible is nothing more than a computer code that can be used to predict the future if the right words are used. I would love to hear your opinion on it.

The Husband and I love your story about calling the police. We both got a good giggle out of it.

    Time to sleep....Catch you later..

Sounds wounderful. I can't wait to get my yard going. My goal is to build some planter boxes out back. Fill them with GOOD soil and start planting flowers and in one of the boxes vegitables. I have desided that my yard is going to be my hobby. Do you watch any of the Gardening shows on HGTV on Saturday afternoons? I highly recommend the "The Gardners Diary", and "Gardening by the Yard" with Paul James. I watch all of them if we don't have anywhere to go. I have learned alot from them. The Gardeners Diary is very inspirational. They have the kinds of gardens I would LOVE to have. I also like the hosts garden hat. I got a large brim garden hat from Target and when I put it on everyone laughed at me. I don't care. I am going to wear it anyway. It makes me feel like more of a gardener. I also got some of those garden clogs and some new gloves. So I get decked out before I go out and I think it is fun. I think it is the frustrated Thespian in me.

LOL! Thanks for the laughs! I loved the joke! So did my Mom and Dad!
I haven't read the Da Vinci Code yet but plan to put it on my reading list soon.
I hope your flowers arrive soon. Some things are worth waiting for. Anticipation makes the gratification even sweeter! But then again, I don't practice what I preach. LOL. I'm awfully impatient. I'd be hopping from one foot to another if I were you.
    Love,
    E.L.

Now that really sounds like an interesting book. I guess the Husband and I are taking a run out to Borders tonight to pick up a copy. My S-I-L works there so I can get her to use her discount...hehehehe (I am so frugal!)

Gardening, one of my favorite hobbies. I make my purchases up in Canada where I take advantage of the value of their dollar. I also love all their nurseries are lined up on one road. If one doesn't have your variety then the other does. I must admit that it is fun to travel to another country to go shopping. I find the locals warm and friendly. It is such a pleasant outing and the border that I go through is in the back woods so they are more cordial then the security people at the busy crossings.

Well, enough for now, time to get some work done around the house.........Toodles for now!

I LOVED The Da Vinci code! I had it on audio book and scraped the paint off about half our house listening to it! When straight from that to Digital Fortress, which is also good.

Who did you order your plants from? Your list sounds so good, I'm tempted to just get that nursery to send me the same things. There are days I just think the whole landscaping thing is hopeless, our property is so odd. Then spring comes, and I'm off with the spade to try something else....

    Hugs,
    Ani

I've read the Da Vinci Code but I've got no one to discuss about the book really, which makes it real sad. I was rushing it so much, so I didn't get the whole meaning..

But I love the book because I think it's a celebration of woman and woman's perfection. ( I know you wouldn't intepret it that way.)
