Quietish Evening
Sat Jan 10 2004

Surprisingly the evening is turning out to be somewhat quiet. Dinner is cooking, #3 & his friend are taking turns playing the PS2 (courtesy of my trusty timer), I'm working on my homework, and the twins are occupied quietly in the back of the house.

I wonder if I should be worried that they are being so quiet. What are they getting into?

Hubby called a little while ago. It was good to hear from him, but I was dismayed to hear that he used the debit card. His usage has ensured that I cannot do the much needed grocery shopping until payday on Thursday. I'm considering scrounging everyone's room for change since I don't think 6 eggs and 2/3 of a gallon of milk will last that long. I'm not sure that it will even last out the evening if I don't hide them!

I'm just glad I took advantage of the caseload sale a while back. My freezer should have enough frozen pizzas and other frozen dinners to keep the boys set for snacks until Thursday. Since eggs are my mainstays for breakfasts, I have those to divert the kids from gobbling up all the remaining eggs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not begrudging Hubby any meals while he is gone. He does, however, have a government credit card that is intended for such uses. By him not using the credit card for food, and only housing, it does mean when he gets home we get a nice reimbursement check for the $$ he spent on food. However, I'd rather have $$ now to buy groceries.
