My house again today resonated with the roars of dinosaurs. I finally got to the point where I needed a change, so I introduced the kids to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. A required movie for any school aged kid. After issuing warnings to the kids that this was not a "How To" movie, we commenced watching. It was definitely a hit. The kids spent the rest of the evening humming "Danke Schoen". None of the kids believed it when I told them that it was a man singing it. They are convinced I'm off my rocker. While this may be true, I'm not determined enough to prove it by seeking out any other Wayne Newton songs for them to listen to, thank you very much.
I'm hoping to escape away from the house for a while tomorrow to finish up my notes for my test. If I don't get some sleep soon though, I suspect I may spend a good chunk of that time tomorrow taking a nap.
On to other subjects, if things go the way I suspect but hope not, when the kids report cards come home on Friday I believe I may have a couple chore slaves in the form of 13 year old twins. While we did everything we could here to make sure they got the assignments done, I strongly suspect that they did not turn in a good chunk of them, and that their grades will be mostly D's and F's. What is the matter with kids that they don't turn in the work they do? I know they don't like the results when the grades come home. You would think having it happen once would be incentive to not have a repeat performance of those types of grades. Oh well, I guess I will wait and see.
