Working For The Weekend
Sat Dec 14 2002

Ah, flashbacks to the '80s and Loverboy music... nostalgia sets in. The next thing you know I'm going to pull out a pair of parachute pants and put the Go-Go's on my CD player.

Or not.

It is our plans to go get our Christmas tree tomorrow. I guess that means that while Hubby is out doing homework today, I had better find a place to put it! This works in well as today is chore day and I will be cleaning anyway. The kids were a bit dismayed when I told them that they only have until 9:30 to watch cartoons before it is time for them to do their chores. #3 won't mind too much as he has been up since 6:30 watching TV, but it is 8:30 now and #2 is still sleeping. He will be reassured that he will get TV time after his room is clean, and of course if there is anything he can't live without seeing while he is doing his chores I will offer to tape it for him. I'm also going to see if I can entice them with either swimming or Treasure Planet for when they get their chores done.

Hubby has finals next week, and I suspect he will stay hidden all of today finishing up his final papers and studying. He spent 6 hours yesterday at work doing homework. He had a nice peaceful environment as everyone had yesterday off and he was the only one in the building. I'm hoping we at least see him for a few hours later today, maybe even for dinner!

Glad to hear Rocky made it safe and sound!
RE your question about the fire, it was a slash burn which is huge, HUGE piles of wood from a logging show. The scoop all the excess wood and burn it when they are done.
Yea, I was surprised with Ted getting voted off. I figured Jan or Clay.
Who do you think is going to win? I am undecided still. Maybe Jan?

I suspect strongly and unhappily that before 2003 is done, there will be many more people out of work.
Between that and the strong possibility of war with Iraq, I think 2003 will not be a year to remember.
    But I hope I'm wrong.
    Take care
