He is really excited about all he will get to do with his job, and I don't think he realizes it yet, but a week from tomorrow is his first pay day. I took him down to the credit union last week to set up a checking account for hsi direct deposit. I'll show him how to go online to check what was deposited, move half his pay to savings, and keep Quicken updated with his finances.
We spoke with #3 tonight (we talk with him a few times each week) and he is having a blast up in Alaska. He comes home on the first, and has mixed feelings about it. He wants to come home, but he wants to stay up there and continue having fun with Grandma and Grandpa.
#1 and #2 have school orientation tomorrow, so I've written out all the checks they will need for everything. That was painful. It will, however, save us almost $20 each for their yearbooks by paying for them this early. Either way, it was still expensive. And that doesn't even include their meal tickets.
I would have the kids take thier lunches, but they don't have lockers at all, and have to carry all their books with them to every class. It's hard enough to find a backpack large enough to hold all their textbooks and notebooks, much less a lunch. So... the kids buy their lunches at school.
As for now, I'm at the point in my evening where I am ready for a Mojito. Care to join me?
