The visit went well. Between #2, #3, Hubby's tools and guidance from him, the boys were able to fix the loose bolt on their Grandma's wheelchair that has been needing attention for a while now. While they did that Hubby worked on her lifting chair. It looks like the problem with that is in the gear box, and needs attention from a professional. MIL will call around to see who she needs to coordinate with to get it fixed. Right now the chair is stuck in a semi-lifted position and good only as a door stop.
With her medical situation, MIL is very difficult to understand when talking with her. Communication over the phone is nearly impossible due to this. It is very frustrating for Hubby as he is unable to get down to help her as much as he would like. He is extremely torn between his need to take care of his personal family, and his need to take care of his mother. He wants to be able to be in two places at once, but as we all know, that is impossible. We both frequently discuss our desire to have a home which would enable us to have her live with us and let us care for her. She has made it known though that she does not want that, so we continue to do what we can.
