Day Two of the Government Shut down
Wed Oct 02 2013

Yesterday was all about reorganizing my pantry.

Today has been about laundry, reorganizing my casserole cupboard, and doing some research on using my pressure canner, and recipes I am interested in.

I think I've settled on Creole Sauce and chicken soup. Maybe even carrots. Oh, and I was able to weed out about 1/3 of the items from the cupboard.

I'm using this time that I've been invited to stay home, to downsize many things in the house. Tomorrow I may tackle the master bathroom and linen closet.

I've also enjoyed the time cooking things I don't often make. Yesterday was baked salmon, assorted vegetables, and Peach/Marion berry cobbler. Today is a Pork Roast cooked in apples, wine and rosemary with broccoli. Leftover cobbler tonight.

Tomorrow I'm considering french toast for breakfast with blackberry topping.

I also spent a couple hours today going through our finances, cutting where I could, and looking for things to cut.

Boy do I hope this is over soon. I don't know how much longer I can take doing housework at this level on a daily basis.

You are a busy bunny, keeping yourself distracted from the trauma of what's going on. Daft situation really, but hey ho, make the best of it, and happy cutting your cloth.
