End of an Icon
Fri Jun 26 2009

First I want to say that I sincerely hope that the other recent losses in the Entertainment arena: Farrah, Ed McMahon, and David Carradine, do not get lost in the hype that is everything that surrounds Michael Jackson.

I think there are many who feel as I do over the passing of Michael Jackson. I was a fan of Mr. Jackson, even through the first accusations. The whole situation with the first family that brought those allegations just seemed hinky; then came the subsequent accusations.

I don’t know if Mr. Jackson was guilty or not. Many in the world will never believe he was guilty. There are just as many who believe he was always guilty. There are probably more, like me, who don’t know but who (for lack of a better term) lost interest, in being a fan.

I believe the music and dance industry has lost a great icon. Michael Jackson brought a new era to the music industry that I don’t know anyone else could have done. One comment I overheard today was that globally, Mr. Jackson had more impact than Elvis or The Beatles. I think I agree with that, although it’s pretty close with the Beatles.

His talent, and the future musical potentials will be greatly missed. I can only hope that his friends and family are able to grieve without too much interference from the paparazzi.

    Hi,

I agree with your last comment about leaving the family and friends alone to grieve, they deserve that at least, and I did like some of his music, not all but some.

I was not a fan, but I will admit he was innovative. I agree wholeheartedly that the world should now leave the family to their privacy!

    Bless

I miss him so much too. I've cried almost as much as when Princess Diana died. I hope his kids will be okay.
