I was held hostage by Sears Automotive today.

I dropped my car in to them at 10 (I literally was the first one in the door) to have the fuel system cleaned, radiator flushed, sparkplugs and wires changed and a few other odds & ends. I was told it would take no more than 2 hours. I only worked until 11, so after work I did some shopping, then went back at about 12 or so.

It wasn’t done, at least another hour they told me.

So, I went back at 1. Still not done. 1:30? Not done. It wasn’t done until just a little after 2.

My day of Raspberry jam making was denied to me because of a car.

After getting home I had to play taxi to the twins at different times for different things, so I wasn’t home long enough to do jam today. I’ll have to find a way to fit it in one evening this week. I want to have all but the mixed berries in the freezer done by next weekend as I’m anticipating boysenberries and loganberries then. Maybe more Marionberries and raspberries if my luck holds.

I need to put up more jam this year because #3 has discovered that he likes more than just grape jelly and occasionally strawberry jam. I’ve been out of jam since April after he made this discovery! Plus I need to make extra to share with co-workers, friends and family don’t you know?

I stopped using Sears automotive several years ago. I dropped my van off first thing in the morning for 4 new tires. I didn't get the call to pick it up until 4:30 that afternoon and they closed at 5. They asked if I wanted to pay by CC over the phone and they'd just lock my keys in the van and I could pick it up using a second set at my convenience. Sounded good to me. Until I picked it up that evening. Imagine my surprise when I found my stearing wheel sitting sideways while I was going straight. Turned out they'd not been able to realign my front end after putting the tires on but neglected to tell me that. When I called the next morning I was told to "just take it to the dealership and let them fix it." Needless to say, I wasn't pleased and never went back there for auto services.

RYC: I've actually tried plecos in the ponds but they weren't very effective and they don't winter well. I did try one year to scoop them out and put them in a tank for the winter but I didn't manage to catch them, lol.

The last 6-8 entries I've read have all had different titles, but Denied keeps coming up. What gives?

    hello Alli!

boy it's great to be back, just like coming home *plops down on the comfy couch*

that's dang annoying when you're counting on doing other stuff with your day but end up getting held hostage by circumstances outside of your control. i hope they gave you a discount for keeping you waiting!

thanks so much for the welcome back :) :) *hugs*

Sounds a lot like what we're going through getting hubby's computer fixed. Meanwhile we're "sharing" mine. Grrr. I want my computer back.

    Now, loganberries and marionberries?
