Grumble-grumble

We got our voter's pamphlet in the mail today, and as with every year it irritated me to no end. I don't know if every state has something like this, but inside the pamphlet, it spells out How to vote in the Presidential Primary.

First off, each voter must decide whether to vote in the Democratic Presidential Primary, or the Republican Presidential Primary; a voter may not vote for candidates of both parties. The voter must select a party and sign a party declaration provided by the party stating that they will not participate in the nomination of any other political party for the 2008 election.

This may not be a big deal for most people, but I don't consider myself a Democrat or a Republican. Why should I have to select a party and sign their declaration? While I only intend to vote for one candidate, why should I have to declare a party?

Stupid rules. They irritate me so much I'm tempted to write in Mickey Mouses name as my choice.

Oh, don't get your panties in a wad, I'm not ACTUALLY going to do that. I'm just tempted is all.

Besides, if I were going to write in anyone, it would be Bill the Cat.

I didn't get anything like that in my mail. Maybe it's just your state. Presicential?

I think I know who I'll vote for tomorrow. But I may change my mind when I get to the polling place. No, I think it's pretty well made up.

I'm with you. There has to be a better way. I vote my conscience, not a party line.

I voted today and I was more than a little miffed with one of the election judges who was so LOUD talking about his personal problems that I honestly had a hard time reading the ballot *rolls eyes*
