I re-checked the schedule and there are two classes I can take next term that I need, and they are both math classes.
Ugh.
I will be taking Probability & Statistics on Monday & Wednesday from 7:50 – 10:30, and Discrete Mathematics on Fridays from 5:00 – 10:00.
Double Ugh.
The Discrete Math class is being taught by a gentleman who is reputed to be a good teacher, but doesn’t speak English as clearly as most students would like. It wouldn’t be so bad if I spoke Chinese so I could understand him in just one language, but alas… I don’t.
Oh well, it will be an interesting term. I’ve already warned the kids that I will likely be quite grumpy from January through March, so they are prepared to duck and cover as needed.
OOPS!!!
OK, that is what I get for blindly running spell check and mediate an argument between the kids at the same time.
It is a Discrete Math class, not a Discreet Math class.
After re-reading it I realized it sounded like I would be taking a math class on the sly or something.
For anyone wondering what Discrete Mathematics is, I give you the following description from the course catalog:
Introduction to abstract mathematical concepts prefacing topics basic to the study of computer science, including mathematical reasoning; graphs, trees and other discrete structures; study of algorithms; applicaitons and modeling.
Doesn't that sound ... fun?
NOT.
Did I mention I hate Friday night classes? I'm a masochist, no doubt about it.
