Skatterbrained Day
Thu Nov 15 2007

I am mentally absent today. Between everything that went on at work last night, and everything that is going on at home today (and work tonight), my brain seems to have mentally checked out and I can’t get it to check back in.

Because of this, I don’t see us having much success doing math lessons today. I typically sit and do them directly with the boys (that is the only way I’ve found that they leave the lesson with any type of retention), and I have this mental image of me trying to conduct the lesson then unexpectedly breaking out in song.

OK, I probably wouldn’t break out in song, but you get the idea.

I think maybe I’ll give the kids a writing assignment to work on; perhaps something quasi-interesting like writing a one page persuasive paper on why somebody should read their favorite book.

I need to start shopping for the holidays.

I need to pay bills.

I need to do some housework.

I don’t want to do any of these.

I think I’ll head on over to The Jigzone for some distraction for a bit.

Thats a dangerous link to give a jigsaw fan!

If you were able to teach math by distance learning, I would be a pupil (I know you do most subjects, but math is where I need the help!)

I feel like this sometimes. Today especially. I have finally succumbed to whatever is going around and my head is literally pounding (no pain at the moment, just pounding)and I have a stuffy nose. I am really looking forward to going to bed. LOL!

Try to have a pleasant afternoon!

There comes a time in every mother/wife/teacher/workingwoman/etc's life when she just needs to zone out. Today is the day.
