Personally I would have added the seasonings right before canning it, but the recipe says to do it while boiling down the sauce. Who am I to second guess the recipe.
Pffft... I second guess recipes all the time. Sometimes it comes out good, sometimes the dog won't even eat it. Since funds are low and I don't want to waste food right now, I'm following the recipe. I'll play around with it another time. Perhaps after I win the lottery.
I must remember that my chances of actually winning the lottery will increase drastically if I actually buy a ticket.
We have new neighbors that have moved into the house next door to us that has recently become a rental. I haven't met them yet but #1 has. Apparently earlier today he saw them moving stuff into the house, so he went over and started carrying boxes in with them. After about 15 minutes they started questioning each other who he was. At that point they pulled him aside to ask what he was doing, where he came from, and who he was. He introduced himself and continued to help them move in. They are in their mid 20's, maybe early 30's. There are three of them, two women and a man. One of the women has a few very young kids.
This should be interesting. The house is 2000 square feet, three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, all for three adults and three VERY young children.
When I was in my early 20's, I shared a house smaller than this with two other people my age. I can say without hesitation that those were cramped quarters and we learned to live our lives in an ULTRA polite manner in order to get along with each other.
Prior to that I shared an apartment about the same size as the house with one of the people I shared the house with, and my now SIL and BIL. It lasted almost a year before SIL and BIL moved out on their own. It was too close for comfort!
It will be interesting to see how these folks survive the experience.
