I Sold The Twins To The Gypsies, But They Brought Them Back...
Tue Aug 07 2007

AGAIN.

The title for this entry was actually suggested to me by #1, who thought it was hilarious.

Last fall we took #2 off his meds so he will be off them long enough to be able to go into the Air Force after graduation. The road has been a long and rocky one since then as he is learning to control his emotions and train himself to stay on task. He hasn’t always been successful, as was proven by his report cards this past year, but he is determined to figure a way to deal with it.

Some days are better than others with #2 un-medicated, others… not so much. The past couple days he has somehow managed to obtain large quantities of sugar while I’ve been at work, which makes his behavior unbearable. Today is the first day in almost a week I haven’t wanted to sell him to the Gypsies. That is largely due to Hubby having been home today, and keeping #2 occupied in various CAP related projects.

#1 on the other hand is still medicated, thank God.

My biggest challenge is actually keeping the twins separated when #2 is having extreme dynamic behavior. He drives #1 nuts and antagonizes him until #1 fights back. Fight being the operative word there.

Yesterday I had to get on #2’s case several times, and on the average had to tell him 4 or 5 times to do a job before he did a half-assed attempt at it, forcing me to make him do it again. He then had the gall to act surprised when I got mad and lost my temper at him. I’ve never been more tempted to recommend any of my children for wall-to-wall counseling as I was yesterday with #2.

Tomorrow Hubby and #2 leave for a Civil Air Patrol encampment that will last until the 18th. It will be just #1 and I in the house for a week and a half. I look forward to cleaning the house and having it stay (for the most part) clean for the duration. #1 is a very organized and neat person, not inclined to make messes other than the occasional dish left here and there.

I can’t wait. I’ll miss them, and I miss #3 terribly (he is spending the month up in Alaska with my folks), but I am looking forward to some reasonable peace and quiet for a while.

Love the title! Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts!

RYC: I'm thinking along the lines of Reilly or Murphy but we'll see what his personality says....If we manage to catch him

I can't tell you how happy I am that they're not my kids. Were they mine, I'd love them dearly, and go look for a gypsy encampment. Not necessarily for the boys.

    Bless the day
