Movie Tastes
Mon Jan 15 2007

I saw some previews today for upcoming movies, and all the previews were for horror movies.

I can remember being a teenager and liking horror movies (but only if I went to them with my boyfriend for security don't-you-know?), but not so much anymore.  I believe we see enough real-life horror on the 6:00 news every evening, I don't need to go looking for more horrors at the theater.

This doesn't mean that I don't occasionally enjoy watching something like The Ring, but only if I'm not with Hubby.  He doesn't do well with horror movies.  As a rule though, I would much rather see a comedy, science fiction, action adventure or drama instead of a horror flick.

With that being said, there is a Battlestar Galactica marathon on I think I'll try to catch the tail end of.

    I'll pass on the horror.

Hub Man is in the living room watching Battlestar right now.

And maybe it's just me getting old, but horror films just look silly to me these days.

I'm with you, I'd rather laugh...

Thing is, horror movies today are nothing like the much better horror movies that are B&W and credit the viewer with intelligence. I see commercials now and think WHY would anyone want to sit through that sort of thing? It makes no sense to me.
