Ya Gotta Love Orville Redenbacher

I’m sitting here munching on Kettle Korn, and truly appreciating the existence of Microwave Popcorn. I’ve always liked popcorn, and I’m really glad that it is now only two minutes away courtesy of my microwave. It doesn’t get any better than this!

OK, maybe it would if I had some M&M’s to toss in with the popcorn, but I’m trying to diet and therefore staying away from sweets whenever possible.

We’re winding the day down, getting ready to Bar-B-Que some chicken I’ve had marinating for a couple days. Add a salad, corn on the cob and brownie bites for dessert and we are all set for finishing up the weekend!

I think I’m going to make a run down to Ryderwood tomorrow for the day with #1, #3 and Hellby. I’ll return the laundry items I’ve gotten cycled through the laundry, and do a little more work on the raspberries, then come home that evening. There’s really no rush on this, so if I wake up in the morning and don’t feel like driving for a few hours I’ll make the trip some other day.

I’ve been incredibly proud of #1 these past few days. He signed up for an AP History class for next year, and they have a couple assignments they need to do over the summer. He has been working on t every day since receiving it, averaging about 2 hours a day on it. One assignment is due in the middle of August, and the others the week before school starts. Ironically he is using the same textbook I had for my US History class a couple summers ago, so he was able to get started without having to wait for the school to find him a book (they are currently unable to find many of the textbooks for this class). There were a couple other books we had to run and get from Borders that have to do with US History from two different view points. We will probably never use the books again, but they were a great investment for #1's educational goals he has set for himself.

Did you say corn on the cob?

I haven't had any fresh yet this year. Our local place hasn't had any until just recently since we had such a cold spring.

I'm going to have to get myself out there and get some tomorrow!

Those AP courses are never a bad thing to take. It sounds like he's very interested in this, so that's always a good thing! :o) And sure he may never use them again, but you never know.

I buy Orville, too. The corn is so tender, it's almost like melt-in-your-mouth. I like the "slightly sweet, slightly salty" of the Kettle Korn.

I need to fix some lunch, but I think I hear the Kettle Korn calling me.
