The Day Ahead
Tue Jan 10 2006

Today the kids head back to Seattle for another tour. On the schedule today is a stop at the Pacific Science Center, a tour of the Space Needle and a visit to the Experience Music Project at Seattle Center.

The morning started off interestingly for the boys. I had CMT on the TV after the news had recycled itself through twice and the weather report hadn’t changed (I always hope, but it never changes!). The Trace Adkins Honky Tonk Badonkadonk video came on, and all the boys were speechless for the entirety of the song. I’ve never heard all the kids quiet for that long unless they were asleep. Amazing what a video filled with girls wearing tight shorts will do for the noise level in a house full of teenaged boys!

Personally I liked it better when the Keith Urban video came on after that, but I'm a sucker for a cutie in Levi's with a guitar.

Just A Little Bit Broke

Yesterday at school, #1 was playing around with one of the medicine balls in gym class and caught it wrong. His finger screamed at him for this so he went off to the nurses office. He thought it was broken, the nurse thought it was only jammed.

So we went to the emergency room this morning to have it looked at.

Well, #1 has a slightly broken finger. It seems that when the finger hyperextended, where the tendon was connected to the bone broke a little piece of the bone off. The doc had a fancy-schmancy name for it, but what it boils down to is that #1 needs to keep a splint on his finger and have it buddy taped to the next finger for about 6 weeks.

I'm hoping I can get him to keep the splint on for at least 3 weeks before he gets impatient and takes it off.

Chuckle, Dinner & The Mall

The boys got back from their adventure today, full of stories and excitement. I did get a chuckle though, they were continuing to talk about the Trace Adkins video. Apparently they told all the other students about it, and now everyone (of the boys that is) wants to see it.

Dinner tonight was a mock Thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey, stuffing/dressing, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. Everyone LOVED the turkey. I wanted to have a couple "traditional" desserts, but I ran out of time and couldn't offer those.

After dinner we made a run to The Mall. The kids will be going up to the mountains tomorrow and Rob needed to pick up an item of clothing he didn't have.

Now we're winding down getting ready for bed. I'm very ready for it, I'm not sure about everyone else.

Awwww, you are so lucky =( we cant get any kind of coverage of country music here. We lost our only country radio station 10 years ago and its a rare day indeed that a country video makes it to our TV screens. I think I am the only person in NZ who has even heard of rascall flatts!

oh no, poor #1!!! ah well, at least it doesn't sound like it's too bad....still most annoying to say the least.

I am always amused at what keeps males in general amuesd in terms of the female form...us girls hold more power than we realise sometimes :o)

I must have nissed an entry somewhere. How did #1 break his (which?) finger. I'm a little backed up on my diary readings, so maybe I just haven't gotten there yet.

Sounds like you're all having a wonderful time sightseeing and being tourists. I hope your boys get to go to Australia eventually. I understand the problem.
