Today the Aussies go to school with the kids to see what a day-in-the-life of a High School student in the US is like. I rummaged up an extra swim suit for Caelin so he can join in #2’s swim class at the end of school.
This evening Hubby is going to take the boys with him when he, #2 and #3 go to Civil Air Patrol. It should give them a chance to get a quick glimpse of the activity. It is going to be fairly low-key tonight as this is a testing night for the cadets to have the opportunity to advance in rank. #3 is beside himself with excitement as it will be his first test. I think he may be in for a shock, #2 and I have been suggesting to him for the last two weeks that he should be studying more, and he hasn’t done too much of that. Oh well, he will learn one way or the other what he needs to do for future tests.
Today #1 took Rob with him to classes, and #2 took Caelin to his classes. It sounds like the boys really enjoyed their day. I think in particular #1 and #2 enjoyed the additional attention, and mostly the reduced amount of work as it sounds like the classes did a bit of an introduction for the Aussie students and less work than usual.
They are off on tours again for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and then back to school with the boys on Friday. I'm going to have the boys switch so Rob can see #2's classes and Caelin can see #1's classes.
#1 and #2 are on different tracts in school. #1 is taking classes geared towards the performing arts, and #2 is taking classes geared more towards business. Other than their gym classes, biology and math, the rest of their classes are quite different from each others.
I'm now getting ready to head out to my first night of torture... I mean my math classes. My Friday night classes are being held during the week this week as the instructor will be traveling from January 13 - 23. It will be nice to not have his class next week, and then I hope I get settled down into the routine I will have for this term.
Today during gym class, #1 jammed his finger while tossing around the medicine ball. Looking at it tonight we are thinking it may be broken, so I will be keeping him home tomorrow and having a doctor take a look at it.
Classes tonight went well. We were released quite early from the second class, which I LOVED as it let me get home at a decent time rather than 11:00.
Right now I'm waiting for Shelby to calm down enough to allow both of us to go to bed. It isn't happening quickly enough, but I think we're finally starting to get there. Maybe.
