Can Anyone 'Splain To Me?

How kitchens can get so cluttered and messed so quickly?  I feel like I am cleaning my kitchen 4 or 5 times a day, even on the days I’m not doing anything in them for most of the day!

I don’t know about anyone else, but my kitchen is a depository for anything the kids happen to walk past or carry throughout their day.  I find the strangest things on the counters or table.  For whatever reason, the table seems to be a favorite place for the kids to put their socks if they take them off during the day.  It doesn’t matter how much I yell at them for this, I find dirty socks on my kitchen table at least once a day during warm weather.  Needless to say, I go through Lysol rather quickly when I have to wash the table and counters 5 or 6 times a day!

#2’s retainer is also found somewhere in the kitchen at least once a day also.  He takes it out to eat, then invariably forgets to put it back in.  I also find his retainer soaking in a bowl of mouth wash in my bathroom rather frequently.  He soaks it in mouthwash while he brushes his teeth, then again forgets to put it back in when he is done.

#2 has also decided that his bathroom is not good enough for him, so he shares my sink, counter and drawers with me in my bathroom.  I don’t mind that so much, as it keeps he and his brother from having any conflicts in the morning while they get ready for school.  #1 tried this today, using his dad’s sink and counter.  I suspect Hubby is going to put a stop to that rather quickly.  He likes to keep his side of the bathroom absolutely spotless.  Too many people use my side for it to stay clean and tidy for more than 5 minutes.

Anyway … after #3 gets on his bus in a bit I will tackle the kitchen.  It should stay mostly clean until the kids get home this afternoon.  It won’t stay completely clean as I need to make applesauce today.  Hopefully I can get that done before the kids get home though, then I can resume the struggle to keep it straightened up for the rest of the day.

No kids here but I'm still making about 10 cups of hummingbird nectar every other day. So I've still got sticky counters no matter how hard I try. AND measuring cups full of sugar water wherever I can find a place to put them on the days I have to make it.

LOL. I'm living alone and my kitchen cabinet and table always gets full. Everytime, I always cleaned it up and it just started to creep back. Where the heck it came from?? :)

My dear woman. Never do that again!

Finish your applesauce today. Then go find one of these.

    http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/jump.jsp?itemID=10115&itemType=PRODUCT&searchid=inceptor

Then you just wash and quarter the whole apples and smoosh them with this that separates out the seeds and skins.

Now I mean it... no more peeling apples for sauce!!

When I moved to Sacramento, I decided to complete studies for an RN, but the credits from the Community College where I started weren't accepted the the Community College here where I wanted to complete the course. Which means I would have had to start all over again from Square One. Two years, when I had already completed one year, and some of the nursing courses from the PsychTech program should have been transferrable. But that's California. I don't know about your state.

Do you put nutmeg in your applesauce?

    Shalom
