School Daze

To the joy of parents in my neck of the woods, school is back in session.  YIPPEE!!!!!

The kids all had a good first day of school, to which I was relieved to hear.  It is always a good thing to start off on the right foot.  The only complaint heard was from #1 who vocalized his displeasure at having a substitute for Biology on the first day.  It seems that a permanent teacher has not been found for the class yet, and they were told today that until that happens they will likely rotate substitutes through the class.
I hope one is found soon, #1 doesn’t do well without a steady class routine.

I had a blissful day of quiet.  I got some laundry done, had lunch with Hubby, and got a lot of crocheting done.  Well, I got a lot of crocheting done until I discovered a botched area and had to frog 2 rows to repair it.  I’m going to try to do those rows again and see if I can get it right this time.

Hubby and I heard a commercial today for the next Survivor.  It starts next Thursday, YAHOO!!!  There are only a few shows that we watch as a whole family, and that is one of them.  Survivor nights around here are filled with getting as much cuddling with the boys on the couch that they will still put up with.  I’m glad they are growing; I just wish they didn’t resist the cuddles as much as they do!  I gotta take advantage of them when I can get 'em!

I know what you mean. Cuddling is getting rare around here as my kids get older. As long as they will allow it, I'll do it! I remember starting school after Labor Day. I miss that because school usually starts the middle of August in these parts. The summer just doesn't seem to exist sometimes!

I love to crochet too. I can't do anything beyond afghans though. Which is fine with me. I like to cover up with them as I make them. Guess I'd better get started on them since they make good Christmas presents. :)

    Have a good day!

Survivor looks like it will be good this time. They are bringing back two former Survivors. Another really good show you might like to watch as a family is the Amazing Race. This time it is the "Family edition" families of four are the teams this time so ther will be kids on the show this time. I think the boys would enjoy it.
