Yesterday & Today
Thu Apr 07 2005

Yesterday was wonderful. It was a balmy 4 out, and most importantly NO RAIN!

The boys and I got several of my plants into the ground, and after Hubby got home he got some more work done on the fence. A little later today the boys will take turns putting more boards up on the fence. That should keep them busy between rain showers!

I started a whole bunch of seeds a couple weeks ago, and several have sprouted. This is a sure indication that I need to get my beds put in so I have somewhere to transplant them to when the time is right. I think once the fence is done, I can get Hubby to put in the raised beds I want for my veggies.

Speaking of seeds… I’ve got more seeds I need to get started. I’ve also got a BUNCH of violets in one of my containers with a clematis. I need to get some of them transplanted into the beds in the front. Hopefully the weather will cooperate in the upcoming days and let me get that done as well as the rest of my potted plants put into the ground. I’ll keep my fingers crossed (unless I’m driving of course).

Speaking of violets… what many people don’t know is that the members of the viola family are edible (violets, pansies, and so forth) as long as they have not been sprayed with chemicals. Brighten up salads with Johnny-Jump-Ups! Toss in some Nasturtiums for some more color variation!

OK, now I’m hungry.

Back in 1968.. my baby girl was tiny and we lived up by the university. in some cheep student housing.. anyway yeah I ended up with a large case of orchid corsages (sp) as in the flower for the prom.. Your date brings you a lovely corsage and pins it on your dress.. Well, I had a friend who worked at the flower shop. For some reason they ended up with a case.. It was a huge box of these just terrific corsages really large beautiful flowers.
I don?t know who?s Idea it was to eat them. But we all were high on pot and just looking at all these beautiful flower wilt.. I didn?t have room in my refrigerator for all of them .. although I did cool a few for me to wear day after day all week.
It was crazy..But we didn't get sick and we ate one each.. :)
Like a dare.. And I think my GS has issues??
    yikes..

My raised beds are looking pretty pitful at the moment. I am hoping to get at least one repaired before June so I can plant green beans. I much prefer growing my own. They just taste better. :)

Comment you left: I suppose I shouldn't mention the time I was in Salt Lake City and went to the LDS facilities asking if they knew where I could take mass on a Saturday night.

I live in SLC and the Cathedral of the Madeleine is just up the street from the Mormon Temple (and almost as old!) Now the Mormon's not only own 'temple square' they actually own 2 or 3 blocks of Main Street.. Including the rights of passage on sidewalk. This has caused all kind of trouble for protesters during Mormon conference time..
I don't know why they don't just leave people to worship as they choose..

You funny girl. Just stirring up trouble aren't you??
