Whew! I was thrilled today when somehow I managed to knock out my program in one try. This is the first one that has gone smoothly. All the previous ones I have spent hours looking over the code trying to find what was missing or incorrect. I did the snoopy dance after the one today!
Today Hubby and I did the walk through of the house to identify all the little things that need to be fixed or replaced before we take possession on Tuesday. After that we drove up to Seattle to sign the escrow papers. We have once again realized the American Dream and are again in debt beyond our wildest imaginings!
Hubby has Guard this weekend. While he is gone the boys and I will be boxing up various household items. I will be working to make sure they don’t pack any dirty laundry or dishes while I pack up the kitchen and some of the hall closets. We have 4 hall closets of varying sizes, all stuffed to the gills with stuff. OK, OK, most of that stuff is food I canned last summer and empty jars from the long eaten canned foods. I’m already anticipating what I will be canning next summer.
I’m actually trying to figure whether I can get everything I want to pack done tomorrow in order to have Sunday free. Safeway has asparagus on sale, and I would love to pickle some to have on hand for snacking. #2 and I go nuts for the stuff.
I will most likely forgo this, as when I really think about it, I don’t want to move more full jars than I already have. But I’m enjoying thinking about it nonetheless.
Next week we will spend the time shuffling back and forth between this house and the new one, getting as many things moved over as we can. On Saturday, bro, SIL, Fran & Dave, a couple co-workers of Hubby’s and possibly our friend Carl (who moved out to Montana a couple years ago) will be coming out to help us move the big stuff. In appreciation for their efforts, we will be supplying a few dozen Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast, sandwich and wrap items for lunch, and pizza & beer for dinner. It is my hopes that we have enough items moved over during the week that it will only take a few hours on Saturday to get everything done. This will give us more time to spend with our friends and enjoy their company.
On Sunday next week, SIL, BIL, niece, a friend (and possibly another person or three hopefully) will be coming up to see the new house, and we will be delivering to niece a car for her driving pleasure. In our new neighborhood parking on the street is prohibited, so we need to reduce our vehicle count. Niece will get a car, we will be able to park in our driveway without problems, and our insurance will go down a smidgen. Everyone wins!
OK, time to chase the kids to bed and head that direction myself so I can be up bright and early to take Hubby in to work (where we left his truck today during all of our running around).
Yippee!
