Ramblings of a Sleepy Mind
Wed Dec 01 2004

The morning Get The Kids Up dance has begun, and my dance partners are reluctant ones. I suspect the dance will go on for a while. I’ve gotten them started, but like many teenagers they need continual prodding to continue their momentum towards wakefulness.

I got lucky with class last night. I had left #2 & #3 here at the house, and #1 came with me. The library is downstairs from my class, so he browsed the books while I attended class. In my class, the instructor spends the first few minutes going through what the assignment is for the evening, and then lets us loose at the computers to complete the assignment. Once we are finished, we can leave. I managed to get through the assignment in an amazingly short time, and was back at the house with #1 less than an hour after I had left for class. My mind was relieved that I didn’t have to leave the kids home without me for very long!

Yesterday I had called AAA to have the truck towed to the mechanic. We are fairly sure the starter is shot, and with Hubby’s promotion kicking in we can get it fixed. My intention was to have the truck towed with me following behind in the Mazda, then come back to pick up #3. The tow truck arrived, and instead of just towing it, the guy jump starts the truck and makes motions to leave. No!!! By the time he had gotten here, I didn’t have much time until I had to pick up #3, and I had no way to get home from the mechanic short of walking. With it being a good hour + walk from here, there was no way I could have gotten to #3 in time. I turned off the truck with the intention of finding some way to get it done today, and this really pissed off the driver. He tried to jump start it again despite my telling him I didn’t have time to take it to the mechanic if I had to drive it there myself, and this time he was unable to get it to start. Yippee! He had to tow it! He wasn’t happy about it, and bitched and moaned about it, but it got towed nonetheless. So now I await the verdict from the mechanic as to how much damage this will be doing to our wallet. I’m REALLY hoping this is not as expensive as the Mazda was to fix!

OK, ok, it may have been expensive to get the Mazda fixed, but now it runs like a charm!

Cars are nothing more than a way to boil your blood pressure and then they take you to get chocolate. Eventually. Good luck and if I'd been there I'd have made the AAA driver mad too. Bleh to him!

Car trouble! My daughter called me frantically a couple nights ago. She was stalled in heavy traffic at a major intersection. A good samaritan came along and stopped traffic and helped her get her car into the service station, in front of which, fortuitously, she stalled. Anyway she needed me to get her home, and then borrow my car so she could get to work on the morrow. Which would have left me car-less, except a friend is parking his car with me for an indefinite period of time. So. She got her car yesterday, and the $$ damage wasn't OMG! I"m going to faint!

So now we both have functioning cars.

    I hate cars.

But I had buses even more.

    Shalom

I spent over 4 grand on my Pontiac when (GS)Kody wrecked it.. Now it is making more strange sounds. I think I'll try to trade it in. Looking at Honda - Preludes. Is that how you spell it? no.. oh well. A Honda car .. 2 door .. good looking, good running, economy car.. I hope, I hope.
Wish you luck on fixing yours easily

What's with the crabby tow truck driver? Its his job to tow, isn't it or does he think he's out on a milk and cookie run?

Hope the $$$ damage isn't too severe. :)
