Final Choices and Other Stuff
Fri Sep 17 2004

Well, we have made all our final choices for the house, now we just need to wait for that information to trickle down so we can go over everything to see what our final price will be on the house.

Our appointment last night was to have been from 6 to 8, but I've yet to see any type of appointment that actually goes to and from the advertised times. We got home MUCH later than I thought we would, which was a bit of a pain as it made me miss my class last night. I'm going to try to get in touch with my teacher today to take the quiz I was to have taken last night.

#1 seems to have come down with the crud that I'm just getting over. Last night he looked and sounded horrid, so I'm keeping him home today to get some good rest. Hopefully a day or two of sleep will help him get over this quickly. In the meantime I'm keeping him supplied with kleenex, cough drops and Nyquil.

I informed Hubby that I will be pretty much MIA this weekend as I plan to spend as much time at the library studying for the test I will be taking Monday. He understood and agreed that I need to spend as much time as possible studying. While this will be good in that I will get the studying done, I'm not exactly sure when I will be able to get all the laundry done that is cluttering up almost every room of the house. Despite doing one or two loads of laundry every day, there are ALWAYS piles of laundry everywhere. I'm convinced that Dirty Laundry Faeries visit my house every night and bring all the laundry from the neighborhood here.

Speaking of laundry, I really need to have a serious discussion with #3. That kid is a serious clothes horse. He goes through 2 or 3 sets of clothes a day. I usually try to fish through his clothes pile every day to re-hang up jeans that have a few more days wear in them and such. I haven't managed to do that the last few days though, and I believe he is completely out of clean clothes. That will have to wait until later though as I've got too much on my plate right now.

OK, time to get the day going. I've put it off long enough!

Your kids are old enough that they can start doing their own laundry. Just give each one of them their own "Laundry Day". On their day it is their responsability to wash all of their dirty clothes, dry them and put them away. Then all you have to run are your and your husbands clothes and towels and sheets on the days one of the boys don't have. Boys need to know how to do their own laundry. They are plenty big enough to handle it. Give yourself a break.

Giving up control over the laundry room was hard for me, but did take quite a load off my shoulders when I started letting the girls do their own. Now Nathan even does his.... at least part of the time. The biggest problem I had was those so called emergency loads the girls always wanted to throw in on my days. If they did that they had to finish mine and fold it. :)

I had forgotten about pirate day. hmmmm....we could find someone to the plank. Nathan seems a likely candidate. oh yea, we are only supposed to speak pirate, not be pirates. aaarrrgggghhhh!
