Just kinda wandering thru the house. My oldest is like 10times better this AM.
But hes taking it easy on the couch in his blanket watching cartoons.
WELL I got the tree out of the house! It was so dry! It left such a mess. Then I couldnt get it out of the stand. The part I do love about all the pine needles dropping, is vacuuming. If you change the bag, put a fresh one in the vacuum up the pine needles. Well everytime you vacuum you get the scent. Just a lil Martha Stewartish tip there.
The house always looks so empty, bare, large when I take all the Christmas stuff down. Have to re adjust to it.
Im staring at my living room. It needs a new color. A new paint on the walls. The H textured them all, put up chair rail, did a,,, oh cant think of the word, but kinda like sponging in 3 diff colors on the lower half, then he put in floor board trim. It looks very nice, but all the colors are neutrel. Its too washed out looking. We just used the colors we had at the time, and its been 2 yrs now and I havent changed it. I really need to.
I went to Target the other day, I had picked up my oldest from school. He goes to the same school I went to from K-6th grade. So we take the road that passes by my childhood house which sets on a corner spot.
My friends Grandparents lived right across the street. Back long ago, my sisters used to watch my friends when they were little over at the Grandparents house. Then later I was inseparable with them. I remember going over there for 4th of July or Holidays. They always did something neat. Like a person dressed as the Easter bunny came hopping up the walk way with a basket of goodies to give them, or Santa made guest appearances at their Grandparents. I was always there, and it was cool cause I even got a gift. :)
You know how elderly have such nicely manicured homes? Well at least some do. Well this house was like this, It always looked nice.
Well there Gpa died awhile back, Grandma came down with Alzhiemers. She then passed away last year or so. So my friends Dad who still lives around the block put the house up for sale.
So I pass this house every day. There are still 2 old original neighbors from when I was there. I lived in that area for the first 16 yrs of my life.
The new residents put up a brick and wrought iron fence. Which is quite nice. It is a Hispanic family and it looks like its a big event with all the family working together. So I get to see the daily progress.
Mind you the house was originally a white with green trim. A 60s style house.
So I drive by other day and they painted it!!!!!!!
It is the most hideous colors I have seen. Do people actually paint something to look like that on purpose?????
Its almost a peachy pink color( the house ) and then the trim is almost a turqoise blue. ITS GAWDY!
Which now its catty corner to another house that is along the same horrid colors. What are people thinking? I drive by and wonder "Do they actually think that looks good?"
Now I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it just looks terrible, The colors dont go at all, its like viewing the colors of a Baby Nursery in the 70s.
