So, Bro & SIL have a neighbor who recently lost her beloved dog. She had the dog trained to go potty only in one area of the yard, and Bro and SIL now would like to buy a tree to plant in that spot as a memorial for the deceased pet.
I received an e-mail from them asking if I could recommend something that would grow well in an acidic soil (having been puppy’s potty requires something that will tolerate such a spot). I referred them to the National Arbor Day Foundation website, where there is a database you can search based on various criteria.
SIL and Bro took a gander at it, and concluded that a Dogwood tree might be the best memorial. I pointed out to them that since the tree will be planted on Puppy’s Potty, wouldn’t a Golden Rain Tree be more appropriate?
I’m not sure if they will go with my suggestion.
