Let Me Tell You Why
Wed Jul 14 2004

I have a few readers aren't part of the DD community, and when they want to comment they pop me off an e-mail. I would like to note here that if anyone wants to comment, I don't require authentication, so anyone can leave comments for me. I respect the opinions of everyone, and therefore don’t delete any comments that are left. So feel free to comment here!

To answer you Tam, the reason I don’t include in my diary “deep and meaningful” things like my political opinion’s, or any other such nonsense is because it isn’t what I will want to look back on and remember in years to come.

In 30 years, do I want to look back at this diary and revisit the various political opinions and issues I think are important? No. In 30 years I want to look back and see the chronicle of what I went through with my family. I want to see the progress #1 makes in dealing with his bipolar disorder. I want to remember my kid’s first crushes, and landmarks in their lives.

Issues change as often as I change my underwear. What is important to society today won’t be important tomorrow. For me the important things are the achievements of my friends and family. Writing here in my diary is the same to me as the important dates and happenings others record in their family bible.

Hopefully this will answer your questions.
