We got home from church this morning (I really like this new church) and I had my day mapped out in my mind. Finishing all my gardening tasks was my primary objective as it is supposed to start raining later this week, and Hubby will be working all next weekend, so I’m not sure when I’m going to get to the rest of the gardening.
Maybe I’ll get lucky and the predicted rain will hold off and I can do it after the kids and I get home from school during the week.
I did get a lot of other tasks done. Tasks I had planned on doing this week after school. Oh well, now I will have that time to do the gardening.
Tomorrow is my first day of school for this term. Monday and Wednesdays will be my heavy days with me being in classes from 9 through 2. Tuesdays and Thursdays I’m lucky in that I only have one class in the afternoons, and Friday is fairly light with only my 2 morning classes.
I got a letter from the VA yesterday that has me a bit irritated. I took an English 101 class 20 years ago at a college in California. It was a writing class, and I can’t remember if I pulled an A or B in it. The course description for English 101 at this school is different that that class was. It is still a writing class, but the description is different. The college says I have to take their English 101 class due to the differences in class description. The VA says that since I’ve already taken English 101 they won’t pay for it. AARRGGHH!!!
Oh well, I’ve already paid for it out of my own account, I’m now only waiting for my check for next month to reimburse me. Looks like I’m out $330 for this next quarter. I’m not sure what my check will be like for my GI Bill now. When I was only taking one class I was getting $400 a month. The pay for full time is supposed to be $900. I’m interested to see what my check will be when it comes.
The thing that will be the most interesting about the next two weeks with me starting back to school full time is #1. He is suspended until April 7th.
Tuesdays and Thursdays won’t be so bad. I’ll talk to my instructor and see if it’s ok if he hunkers down in a corner and reads a book during the class. If that’s a no-no then I’ll camp him out in the library with a book. Hubby can have him at work tomorrow, and he’s looking into what can be done Wednesday and next week. Friday he will either have to come with me or stay here alone.
I have to laugh about this. Hubby and I had talked about my schooling a few months ago, and decided it would be better if I took classes during the day while the kids were in school so I could be home with the family in the evenings. That way the kids were also not unattended in the evenings when Hubby has to go out of town. We hadn’t thought about a situation like this coming up. That fact must have registered on the kid’s radar as all the recent troubles started shortly after I registered and paid for classes.
Murphy is alive and well in my home.
