Gray Day
Tue Feb 17 2004

Up until a few minutes ago, the day was mostly a monochromatic gray. It rather matched how I've felt today with this cold. At least I did get a pretty good night's sleep last night so I felt a bit better than I did yesterday. I'm hoping for an early night again tonight and that I'm feeling even better tomorrow. It's going to suck being in class tomorrow night if I still feel like I do today.

Mom & Dad come back into town tomorrow afternoon, then jet home to Alaska on Thursday. That will conclude their whirlwind tour of family for this winter. They are anticipating coming back down next September or October and going "touring" a bit with the 5th wheel.

I've started putting together my notes for my test next Monday. I'm hoping to have better notes this time and to do better on the next test. We will see.

#2 announced to me today that he wants to work with animals when he grows up. Not a vet, but maybe taking care of the Beluga whales at our local zoo. #3 has been saying for over a year now that he wants to be a zoo keeper when he grows up, and #1 has off and on said he wants to be a vet. They all seemed quite insulted if I asked if they wanted to work in a zoo because it feels like home.

Go figure.

Would be great to have a vet or 3 in the family, save you heaps of money on those pesky furry critters!

    *giggles at your reply*

Maybe that's why I wanted to be a vet when I was young.

Zookeeper, eh? Nowadays you need an undergrad degree, usually in bio, to land one of those positions. That's a lot of education to clean out the cages and make sure the water's clean! Modern zookeepers actually get involved in much more than just feeding and cleaning though.

There's a great school for zookeepers in Florida where you can actually get your undergraduate degree in zookeeping, by the way.

I remember when daughter wanted to be a vet for years until one day our orange cat ate curling ribbon. Some of it hung out of his bottom and Hubby told her to pull the rest of it out. The cat screamed, She screamed, We all said EEWWW! She decided being a vet might be to gross. We haven't heard about her being a vet again. Now she wants to teach Kindergarteners. We haven't told her about the Glazed Doughnut monster. We will let her find that out AFTER she has the degree.

    allimom,

wow... three sons. That's really admirable. I'll be the experiences you've gone through with them has been both educational and taxing. But I'm sure that they've all been worthwhile. You've got a standing ovation from me. *^_~*

LOL! What delightful sons you have! I love working with animals, too. Maybe that's why I am a lawyer!
As for Secondhand Lions, MagicWhiskey recommended it before, too!
