The Energizer Bladder
Tue Feb 10 2004

Every morning I let the dog out, and I SWEAR she has an Energizer bladder.

She just keeps going and going and going and going and going.....

#1 seems to be in a cheerful mood this morning. I'm hoping it carries over into school, and particularly into his art class where he will be faced with fixing that project that caused all the problems yesterday.

I've spoken to him about it, so he knows it will be coming up. I've instructed him to ask the instructor for an example or for help. I'm DESPERATELY hoping he listened to me and remembers what we talked about once his class starts.

If I get another call today I'm going to be seriously mad. Perhaps the humiliation of being spanked at 14 years old will sober him up and make him realize that we are serious about him making an effort and not just using his disability as an excuse to act out when he disagrees with something he is required to do.

Yes, I realize that a good percentage of the time he is unable to control this. I know #1 well enough to know that he takes advantage of this a LOT. If he doesn't want to do something, he will act out rather than comply, then blame it on the disorders.

It is times like that when I need a good solid wall to beat my head against in frustration. All of mine have dents and cracks. Does anyone out there have one I can borrow?

You may laugh, but I think it shows very strongly what a great kid he is in that he wants a Blizzard from Dairy Queen. Most kids (and parents) would ask for and demand big material things. Good for him!! And my personal favorite is a Snickers Blizzard, if you care to send one my way.

My granddaughter is ADHD, and since she's been on Strattera, her grades have come up from almost failing to honor roll. She's much happier with herself. Her problem was not so much misbehavior, but inability to focus/concentrate. She wasn't noisy, but was unsettled, and would disturb the class by her wandering from pencil sharpener, to dictionary, to someplace else, to someplace else, and maybe finally back to her desk.

She still can't remember to turn off lights, though. *smile*

    LOL @ your doggie!
Congratulations, #3! You've proven to yourself and others that you can succeed if you put your mind to it!
    Love to all at home.

P/S: I'm having such a great time laughing at that Mongoloid-looking Asian who sang the Ricky Martin number on American Idol 3 that I forgot to pick a favorite!

    Quick question -
When taking melatonin... do you think it's wise to use lukewarm coffee to wash it down? Kind of negates the purpose, hunh? Oh well... ;o)
