That Explains It
Mon Jan 26 2004

#1, #2 and myself were all sick last night. #3 came through the night with no problems. Seeing as how #3 is the only one who didn't eat the chicken last night has me eyeing it with suspicion and throwing it away.

Due to this I'm keeping #1 & #2 home today and will send them back to school tomorrow if they get through the day with no problems.

This is going to make finishing my homework and studying for my quiz tonight rather difficult. It is almost impossible for me to do any homework or studying when the kids are home. I'm not able to give uninterrupted attention to the material, so it takes longer and doesn't sink in as well.

Oh well.

I've actually been having quite a lot of problems with this class. With Hubby being gone, I'm not able to do the kind of studying I can when he is here and I can take off to the math lab on the weekends. The math lab had been a fantastic resource for studying the last several terms, and without that now I'm really floundering with this class. I'm going to give it until after the first test, and if it doesn't look like I will be able to pull at least a 2.0 from the class I'm thinking of either dropping it or seeing if I can be switched to an audit status, then re-take it next term. If I do this, I will be taking it during the day when the kids are in school. I think I will be able to pay much better attention if I'm not preoccupied with worrying about the kids being home alone while I'm in class.

OK, #3 is out the door and I'm back to bed. Goodnight! Or should that be G'day?

Awww... poor boys. I hope they get well soon. Best to stay away from chicken for the time being, what with the bird flu going around.
I wish you all the best in your studies. It's not easy and I admire the hard work you put in.
    Love,
    E.L.

Do you know what's weird? The last few times I've tried to read your diary my computer froze. This time, however, its working fine. I can't figure out why that would be.

I hate it when you're left standing there trying to figure out if something is still safe to eat. We all geot really sick this time last year and we couldn't figure out if it was from the hamburger or a stomach flu. whatever it was, it was horrible. Hope you all get to feeling better. Talk to you later, eh.
