Now, I love to sing. I sing frequently... in the car, in the shower, in the privacy of my home where I won't injur anyone . Despite my loving to sing, I know good and well that I have no place on a show like this, or even in a karaoke bar.
Knowing that, and listening to some of these wannabe contestants, I can say for sure that I can sing better than they can. Now, if I have no place on this show, I want to know who suggested to some of these folks that they give this a shot. There is one gal that they are referring to as Skat Girl. She attempted to sing Route 66. I say attempted because I think she made discovered new notes to sing for this, that were previously unheard by any man on earth. There was not a single not she got for this song.
Then there was the kid who sang Unchained Melody. I had chills from his voice. Simon's comment was that it was the best version he had ever heard, and the kid was note perfect from the start.
There were also the brothers, twins I believe (but am not sure as I was back convincing #3 that there were not any monsters under his bed when they came in) who had been separated for what sounded like many years due to a family dispute. They were both phenomenal and both made the cut. I'm looking forward to seeing them on the show and won't be surprised if one or both go quite far this season.
OK, time to go convince #3 that there are not any monsters in his closet either.
