We set the alarm and awoke early for our last full day of vacation, with the intention of enjoying every minute of the day frequenting the rides we had tagged as our favorites.
The first ride of the day? Pirates of the Caribbean. We scooted ourselves over there, and managed to be the first on the ride for the day. I was tempted to go on it again since there was still no ride when we got off (I can't help it, Pirates has been one of my favorite rides since I was about 4), but the kids were clamoring for breakfast at this point. We stepped over to the River Belle and enjoyed a nice breakfast in a crowd free establishment.
After that, it was off to Fantasy Land to get fast track tickets for Small World. While waiting for the ride, we made our way through several other rides in Fantasy Land, included the much required (according to the twins) Teacups. After the Teacups, we staggered over to the Small World. Despite the grumbling of the kids, we went on the ride. It seems they prefer the thrill of the faster rides to the leisurely ones.
Too bad.
The next stop was Tomorrow Land. The kids wanted to be sure Grandma was paid attention to, so they insisted on Star Tours a few more times. My mom would be proud. It appears that her favorite ride in Disneyland was also one of the favorites of the boys.
The day was very warm, it was lunch time and we were in need of cooling off. We walked through California Adventure to pick up fast passes for California Screaming, and then headed to the Hotel to let the kids swim while Hubby and I soaked in the hot tub. We were quite enjoying ourselves, when I noticed that Hubby's face had the definite look of sunburn. We headed back to the room to dry off, and head back over to the park.
Did I mention how much we REALLY liked the entrance for guests at the Paradise Pier that let us into the center of the park? No? OK? I'll mention it now. I REALLY like the entrance for guests at the Paradise Pier that let us into the center of the park. Really!
We enjoyed the rest of the day at California Adventure, and then headed back to get packed up and ready to go the next morning.
While we were all reluctant to put an end to our vacation, our feet and bank account were more than ready to call it quits! The trip we had been saving for the last few years had come to an end, and we were all leaving it with wonderful memories to last for years to come.
Now if I could only convince Hubby to start saving for a vacation to go white water rafting down the Colorado or a walking tour of Australia.
