I'm Awake! I'm Awake! The Answer Is 42!
Thu Nov 13 2003

Of course I'm not sure what the question was, but with an answer of 42 I'm covered for all questions. For anyone confused with this, go and read the 5 book trilogy (yes, 5 books in the trilogy, go see yourself!) by Douglas Adams The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. These books will teach you useful things such as how to fly (throw yourself at the ground and miss)! You will discover what Babblefish are! You will learn the secret of untapped power through a improbability drive!

Ok, enough silliness and mayhem for the moment.

I've got a ton of homework to get me through the day, and keep me occupied between laundry loads. Just the thought of the day ahead of me makes me really want to go back to bed. I did that yesterday though.

Note to self: in the future, when going back to bed, be sure to actually TURN ON the alarm so you don't sleep all day.

I made the mistake of telling the kids the mathematical definiton of jerk yesterday. They gleefully informed me that they were going to call everyone at school mathmetical terms today. I'm hoping the extensive and detailed discussion I had with them after that will have convinced them not to do this.

I hope it stuck.

Just don't try using the universal 42 as an answer on any of your math tests unless you've vaidated it with thorough computation.

As for the kids' newfound expansion of their vocabulary, I think the outcome is already a foregone conclusion. Why is it that kids ignore the imporant grammer and vocabulary lessons, but latch right onto the stuff not taught in conventional English courses?

I agree with Pali, why do kids remember that stuff and not what they need to know?
I'm doing pretty much the same, laundry and studying. WoooHooo. At least it is Survivor night.

I just knew that your entry would have something to do with the Douglas Adams books when I saw the title. :) Funny writer. I always crack up about Arthur Dent wandering through his house with the word "yellow" in his head because there are bulldozers outside his house.
