After spending 3 hours this morning with my study partner going over this weeks assignments, I came home to running a couple loads of laundry, surfing the net a bit and flipping back and forth between the two books I'm reading, Executive Decision by Tom Clancy (this will be the third time I've read it) and Heretics of Dune by Frank Herbert. One for serious moments, the other for lighter reading, and sprinkle them with my comic books for diversity.
Speaking of comic books... I'm really irritated at Marvel for how they left of in Amazing Spiderman this issue. They are gearing up for issue 500, so it is chock full of drama and suspense. This issue was great as far as storyline and art, but the cliff hanger ending really sucked. I want to know what happens! Of course, that is the whole point behind how it ended, so I guess I can forgive Strazynski this time. Winick has been doing the same thing with Exiles, Austen with Uncanny X-Men, and Claremont with X-Treme X-Men.
I strongly suspect someone at Marvel is a fan of the old serials that used to run on Saturdays way back when. Leave you with a cliff hanger every week to keep you coming back for more.
OK, enough about comics.
We took the kids swimming at the Y tonight. We always have a good time, and like any kid having a good time, they don't want to leave. We solved that tonight. When we were ready to go, we suggested to them that if they got out of the pool and changed quickly, we might be able to swing by Dairy Queen on the way home. I've never seen them get out of the pool that quickly before! I think #1 may have made a swimming speed record when he swam over to the side of the pool to get out. #2 & #3 were not far behind them.
Now it is time to go curl up with one of my books and relax before falling asleep. G'Night!
