Today I had a chore for myself that I thought would only take an hour or two. Clean the kitchen. Under normal (a.k.a. during the school year) it would have only taken me 2 hours tops. However, with the kids not in school yet, it took me almost 5 hours. I expected to have to stop to break up arguments, or lend assistance from time to time with various activities and projects. I did not expect to have to re-mop one section of the floor 4 times because the kids kept walking across it leaving a dirty trail. I finally got tired of doing the same task over and over and banished them from using the kitchen door.
A friend from my Trig class came over and we went over some of the homework together again. This stuff would be a heck of a lot easier to do if the instructor had given it to us after he presented the material. However, having to go onto the internet and comb through our books to find out how to do it is probably a more effective way for us to learn it.
Tomorrow I think I will tackle my desk. I'm pretty sure it is made of wood, but I haven't seen the top of it in so long I'm not so sure anymore. I'm thinking a blow torch would be the most effective, but there might be something in all these papers and piles that is important.
Hmm, maybe I'll find that sandwich I misplaced a couple weeks ago...
