I ended up getting an 80% on the quiz. The only thing that kept me from a 100% was a silly mental block that I've been experiencing. When I look at my notes, or if asked in class I can clearly tell anyone that the reciprocal of sine is cosecant, and the reciprocal of cosine is secant. But when I have the appreviations in front of me, my brain insists that sec is the reciprocal of sin, and csc of cos. Fortunately cot and tan don't trip me up.
Ah, the joys of Trigonometric abbreviations.
Actually I'm having fun in the class. The instructor, while nuts, has a very comprehensive teaching method. The only thing I don't like is that I have been dreaming of triangles for the past two weeks. Specifically right triangles. More specifically, I've been building roller coasters and doing the formulas for the engineering of them. I wake up mentally tired from doing computations in my sleep all night.
Even so, last night's roller coaster was totally cool! It had twists, turns, loops and corkscrews guaranteed to make even the strongest stomach hurl!
