Down Day
Sun Jul 20 2003

This is pretty much a "down day" for me. While I did run a load or two of laundry & dishes, and mow the lawn, I am not planning to do anything else but relax and enjoy the day.

Hubby only had to work until noon today, so this will be the closest thing he has to a day off for the next few weeks. I strongly suspect we will head to the lake or pool later today to cool off.

#3 is bouncing on the tramp with friends, #1 just crawled in after hiking through the local woods, and #2 is still hiking in said woods looking for treasure. He found a cell phone the other day, who knows what kind of goodie he may stumble across today? He decided to be official about his hike and donned his Scouting uniform, hiking boots, canteen et. al. It keeps him happy and he is having fun, so who am I to point out that he is no longer a Boy Scout and probably shouldn't wear the uniform? With as much as he loved it though, it wouldn't surprise me if he asked to get back into scouting this fall.

If he does decide that, hopefully he will find a pack that has meetings we will be able to get him to! His schedule is quite full between Tae Kwon Do and swimming. With that, and #1's swim team and lesson schedule, and the various classes #3 is in, Hubby and I have quite a busy evening schedule during the school year. Between shuttling the kids, and making our own classes, we are very busy. With being busy, time just flies by. It is amazing how quickly the year goes by when you stay busy!

Squash and zuchinni? Hubby has my sincerest sympathies. Those aren't food items ... they're instruments of torture.

When I hear about your schedules I am VERY glad I have kids who don't like sports and who love their computers. We are so relaxed and calm we are boring, compared to your family. Lucky for us our kids seem happy the way we are.

LOL @ your hubby! I love my greens and can't live without them. I love broccoli best of all.
Your boys seem to have no trouble keeping themselves occupied. The decision to don a scout uniform and hiking boots to explore the local woods is one I too would make. I love jungle trekking. Also, do not forget the walking stick. The knocking scares snakes away. I hope. I think. I know.
    Love,
