Why I am a Mean Mom
Tue Jul 15 2003

I could have put this in the last entry as it is somewhat in line with that, but I decided that with the way my kids view it, this needed to be it's own entry.

I am a Mean Mom. Just ask my kids, they will tell you stories of the horrors I put them through.

I actually make them take Swimming Lessons every session at the Y. Isn't that horrid of me? No matter how much they don't want to take them, and don't want to go, I take them (sometimes kicking and screaming... well at least at home until we get in the car) to these lessons so they can learn to swim and know water safety.

Not only that, I Make Them Clean Their Rooms! At least once a week. To top this off, I Make Them Change Their Bed Sheets! Imagine the torture of putting clean sheets on their own beds!

My kids are also Forced To Do Household Chores! Each boy takes turns either on various pieces of yard work, dishes, vacuuming, dusting or taking out the garbage. I have even been known to Make Them Clean Their Own Bathroom! Oh the horrors.

Now the kicker. The thing that makes me the Meanest Mom in the whole neighborhood. I Make Them Do School Work During The Summer!!! Can you imagine the indignity of this? The mental and physical anguish I put my children through? If they were asked, they would say that someone should alert the authorities on me!

Now, for anyone out there who want's to be a Mean Mom like me, most of the above items need no outside resources from your home. The school work may need some assistance. For some websites to help you be a Mean Mom, check out these:
